Hydrangea, often referred to as Hortensia, is a genus of more than 70 species of flowering plants native to both the Americas and Asia.

Medicinal use of the plant dates back centuries, with Buddhist sweet tea made from its leaves used in cleansing rituals and Native Americans tapping into the root and bark for its diuretic and pain-relieving properties.
